Main Street Waterloo is dedicated to enhancing the vitality of downtown Waterloo through historic preservation, economic development and community engagement. Downtown Waterloo is home to more than 2,000 residents and 5,500 day-time workers; $70,000,000 worth of annual commerce and averaging $8,000,000 in annual private re-investment into the district. Main Street Waterloo is proud to be one of more than 50 communities in the state who have been designated Main Street communities. Waterloo has been a Main Street Community since 1996 and we have utilized the Main Street America Four-Point Approach (Design, Economic Vitality, Organization and Promotions & Marketing) to bring new life and excitement to our city center. We are a volunteer organization, striving to promote Waterloo's downtown as a great and safe place to live, work and play for Waterloo residents and visitors alike.

Main Street Waterloo's work is accomplished by raising money through community events, projects, donations, grants, and a Professional Service Agreement with the City of Waterloo. Donations are an important way to support the work of Main Street Waterloo. Consider becoming a Friend of Main Street Waterloo, donating to Downtown Beautification, donating to the Downtown IMPACT Grant, or even a general donation to the organization.
